Hello, I’m Chelle and I’m the owner of and maker here at Sweet Betty. I am a wife, mother to 3 (not so little) boys and Mamgu to a beautiful Granddaughter. I’ve had a love of crafting ever since I can remember, inspired by watching my talented Mother Lesley who could make the most fabulous creations from what seemed like nothing. From painting to sewing, crochet to baking there wasn’t anything she didn’t excel at. So a tough act to follow!

Sweet Betty was created through my frustration at spending lots of money on expensive, poorly fragranced high street branded candles. I wanted something that gave me the clean, long lasting burn I was looking for with a fragrance that was there from start to end without having to spend a fortune so I decided to do it myself! After lots of research, experimenting and good old sleeves rolled up hard work...

Sweet Betty was born.

Sweet Betty is named after my beautiful grandmother Elizabeth (pictured here in 1932 at the Royal Ascot Racecourse). Elizabeth was more fondly known as Betty who along with my grandfather Joe had a never ending love of their garden and all that they nurtured and grew in it so it seemed fitting to name the company after her in honour of her true love of fragrance and nature.

Sweet Betty lovingly creates individually hand poured fragranced soy wax candles and melts using a premium naturally blended soy wax which gives a cleaner, longer lasting burn than the equivalent paraffin wax. This wax has excellent fragrance holding qualities.

Sweet Betty Soy Wax is manfactured in the UK using Soy that is sustainably sourced from a European supply chain. It is sourced according to a policy of NO Deforestation, NO Peat and NO Exploitation. Our wax along with our high quality fragrance oils HAVE NOT been tested on animals and are totally VEGAN FRIENDLY.

I do hope you enjoy the candles, melts and other products I produce as each and every one is made by me with the same love and care my Parents and Grandparents gave to me.
